Topic-based curriculum design and course creation
Create an expanding digital library of short, topic-based video series for students in the US (globally accessible), grades 7 and up, which is engaging, relevant, and affordable or free.
USP
1. Relevance - Real world issues, practical education (such as personal finance, finding a job, tech, and entrepreneurship);
2. Topic-based - We explore an interesting topic from all angles and encourage student research in the direction of their interests;
3. Non-standardization - Student-led learning, freedom to choose their own curriculum according to their interests;
4. Container and structure of curriculum: Short animated videos to maximize engagement, a full series around each topic;
5. Uncensored: We don't shy away from real world issues.
Biz structure
I'm thinking nonprofit, but I'm not 100%. I think fundraising is a better way to generate funding than asking parents to pay, as the parents of the target students might also be poor. A nonprofit structure would be in line with the social nature of the org and also the org's vision, which is to provide students with a relevant and engaging education at a cost that everyone can afford.
