Lower back pain is the 3rd most common reason for doctor visits. It effects 80% of the U.S. the population at some point in their lives. It is the largest contributor to missed time at work, and with direct medical costs and lost productivity at work, it exceeds $100 Billion.

One way to help alleviate back pain is by spinal compression, which gently stretches the spine and allows the discs between to decompress. However, spinal decompression devices can be expensive, and require expensive trips to the chiropractor to use. Other, that are more affordable, like inversion tables, are uncomfortable and many people aren't able to use them.

My concept is for a spinal decompression device that is affordable, durable, and be used by the majority of lower back pain suffers, or even those without back pain who want to decompression their spine in the comfort of their homes. Unlike inversion tables, this device does not require any hanging upside down, but is comfortable and can be done will watching TV.

The product can be marketed to consumers, as well as to businesses for their employees. The product is marketable to millions of people domestically and globally, and with the amount of people who experience back pain, there will always be a market.
